Repairing bricked Samsung SC-06D is easy with the RIFF Box. The device is based on the Qualcomm MSM8960 chipset.
Note, one simple way to connect over JTAG – connect USB cable to PC and insert battery. In this case phone is automatically powered on.

To resurrect Samsung SC-06D:

  •  Solder JTAG cable to Samsung SC-06D JTAG pads;
  •  Connect USB cable to phone and PC;
  •  Insert battery;
  •  Make sure Samsung SC-06D is selected in the list of models;
  •  Click Resurrect button;
  •  Wait till software signals a successful operation completion;
  •  Disconnect USB cable, de-solder JTAG wires;

Now phone is in bootable condition, that is, even if it does not start up normally, you can flash it using original Samsung downloader software to restore it to the working state.

To enter download mode:

  •  Disconnect PC cable;
  •  Insert battery;
  •  Hold ‘Volume Down’ key and press Power-On.

Repairing bricked HTC 8X (PM2330000) is easy with the RIFF Box. Phone is auto powered on with USB Data Cable connected to the PC while battery is connected.
Additionally to SPL and Radio zones, the zone which contains Model ID is re-flashed too. Thus after resurrection phone will have Model ID = ‘PM2330000’.

To resurrect HTC 8X (PM2330000):

  •  Solder JTAG cable to HTC 8X (PM2330000) JTAG pads;
  •  Insert batter and connect USB Data cable;
  •  Make sure HTC 8X (PM2330000) is selected in the list of models;
  •  If you use only battery, press Power On key;
  •  Click Resurrect button;
  •  Wait till software signals a successful operation completion;
  •  Disconnect power supply, de-solder JTAG wires;

Now phone is in bootable condition, that is, even if it does not start up normally you can flash it using known flashing methods.

To enter download mode:

  •  Disconnect PC cable;
  •  Insert battery;
  •  Hold ‘Volume Down’ key and press ‘Power ON’ button.

Repairing bricked HTC EvoDesign4G is easy with the RIFF Box. Phone is auto powered on with USB Data Cable connected to the PC while battery is connected.
Current resurrector works via USB interface thus no JTAG connection is required. You may need to install RIFF BOX DCC Loader USB Interface USB driver if you run this for the first time. Drivers are located in JTAG Manager directory (Drivers folder).
In order to connect, device must be detected by system as Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader communication port. To force device into this mode (that is if your device is dead but there is still no USB activity when you connect it to PC with USB cable) use testpoint to disable the eMMC memory – for this shortcut specified point on the schematics to the GND during power-on stage.
Resurrector will reflash radio’s boot zones and will re-write PDA’s SPL to 1.30.0000 version. Additionally to SPL and Radio zones, the zone which contains Model ID is re-flashed too. Thus after resurrection phone will have Model ID = ‘PH4430000’.
There is option to reflash BOOT and RECOVERY zones.

To resurrect HTC EvoDesign4G via USB Cable:

  •  If required, use testpoint to force HS-USB QDLoader mode: for this de-power board, shortcut specified point in the schematics to GND with the help of a needle, insert USB cable into PC, wait while phone enumerates as HS-USB QDLoader and then remove the needle;
  •  Make sure USB cable is attached to the board and is connected to PC;
  •  Make sure HTC EvoDesign4G via USB is selected in the list of models;
  •  Click Resurrect button;
  •  Wait till software signals a successful operation completion;
  •  Disconnect power supply, de-solder JTAG wires;

Now phone is in bootable condition, that is, even if it does not start up normally you can flash it using known flashing methods.

To enter download mode:

  •  Disconnect PC cable;
  •  Insert battery;
  •  Hold ‘Volume Down’ key and press ‘Power ON’ button.

Repairing bricked LG E405 with the RIFF Box is very hard because it requires non-beginner soldering skills (since JTAG pads on board are very small and are close to each other).
Phone is auto powered on with USB Data Cable connected to the PC. Battery presence is not required; connection can be established with detached board.

To resurrect LG E405:

  •  Insert USB Data cable into board and PC;
  •  Make sure LG E405 is selected in the list of models;

Repairing bricked Samsung I8190 is easy with the RIFF Box.
Please note, USB cable must be either disconnected or connected to PC. Charger is not allowed. In order to establish connection, insert battery and press Power On.
Problem to establish JTAG connection means the device is dead up to the loader which enables JTAG. In this case phone must be detected via USB cable as “U8500 USB ROM”. Please install drivers which are located in JTAG Manager “Drivers\NTU8500” folder, leave USB cable connected and start resurrection again.

To resurrect Samsung I8190:

  •  Solder JTAG cable to Samsung I8190 JTAG pads;
  •  Attach battery and connect USB cable;
  •  Make sure Samsung I8190 is selected in the list of models;
  •  Click Resurrect button;
  •  If required, press Power On key;
  •  Wait till software signals a successful operation completion;
  •  Disconnect power supply, de-solder JTAG wires;

Now phone is in bootable condition, that is, even if it does not start up normally, you can flash it using known flashing methods.

Note, one simple way to connect over JTAG – connect USB cable to PC and insert battery. In this case phone is automatically powered on. But note, in very rare cases it is possible that you will have to hold Power On key during initial connection.

To resurrect Samsung M200K:

  •  Solder JTAG cable to Samsung M200K JTAG pads;
  •  Connect microUSB cable to phone and PC;
  •  Insert battery;
  •  Make sure Samsung M200K is selected in the list of models;
  •  Make sure a fixed TCK frequency is selected;
  •  Click Resurrect button;
  •  Wait till software signals a successful operation completion;
  •  Disconnect USB cable, de-solder JTAG wires;

Now phone is in bootable condition, that is, even if it does not start up normally, you can flash it using original Samsung downloader software to restore it to the working state.

To enter download mode:

  •  Disconnect PC cable;
  •  Insert battery;
  •  Hold both ‘Volume Down’ and ‘Home’ keys and press Power-On.
