Repairing bricked Asus Padfone A68 is easy with the RIFF Box. Phone is auto powered on with USB Data Cable connected to the PC. Battery presence may be required.
In case you have no USB cable near, make sure battery is charged enough and hold Power On button during initiation of JTAG connection.

To resurrect Asus Padfone A68:

  •  Solder JTAG cable to Asus Padfone A68 JTAG pads;
  •  Insert USB Data cable into board and PC;
  •  Make sure Asus Padfone A68 is selected in the list of models;
  •  If you use battery, press Power On key;
  •  Click Resurrect button;
  •  Wait till software signals a successful operation completion;
  •  Disconnect power supply, de-solder JTAG wires;

Repairing bricked LG E975W with the RIFF Box requires non-beginner soldering skills (since JTAG pads on board are very small and are close to each other).
Phone is auto powered on with USB Data Cable connected to the PC while battery is inserted. Please note, battery must be charged. If battery is not charged enough there is chance of getting 0x42 error during connection stage.

To resurrect LG E975W:

  •  Solder JTAG cable to LG E975W JTAG pads;
  •  Insert USB Data cable into board and PC;
  •  Make sure LG E975W is selected in the list of models;
  •  Click Resurrect button;
  •  Wait till software signals a successful operation completion;
  •  Disconnect power supply, de-solder JTAG wires;

Now phone is in bootable condition, that is, even if it does not start up normally, you can flash it using known flashing methods

To enter emergency mode:

  •  Disconnect PC cable;
  •  Insert battery;
  •  Hold both ‘Volume down’ and ‘Camera’ keys and press ‘Power ON’ button.

Repairing bricked HTC Proto (PM6610000) is easy with the RIFF Box. Phone is auto powered on with USB Data Cable connected to the PC. Battery presence may be required.
In case you have no USB cable near, make sure battery is charged enough and hold Power On button during initiation of JTAG connection.
Resurrector will reflash radio’s boot zone and will re-write PDA’s SPL to 1.12.0002 version. Additionally to SPL and Radio zones, the zone which contains Model ID may be re-flashed too. In this case after resurrection the phone will have Model ID = ‘PM661****’.

To resurrect HTC Proto (PM6610000):

  •  Solder JTAG cable to HTC Proto (PM6610000) JTAG pads;
  •  Insert USB Data cable into board and PC;
  •  Make sure HTC Proto (PM6610000) is selected in the list of models;
  •  If you use battery, press Power On key;
  •  Click Resurrect button;
  •  Wait till software signals a successful operation completion;
  •  Disconnect power supply, de-solder JTAG wires;

Now phone is in bootable condition, that is, even if it does not start up normally, you can flash it using known flashing methods.

To enter download mode:

  •  Disconnect PC cable;
  •  Insert battery;
  •  Hold ‘Volume Down’ key and press ‘Power ON’ button.

Repairing bricked Samsung I589 is easy with the RIFF Box. Phone is auto powered when USB Data Cable is inserted while battery is inside. If you don’t use USB cable, make sure to hold Power On button during JTAG connection establishing phase.

To resurrect Samsung I589 do this:

  •  Solder JTAG cable to Samsung I589 JTAG pads;
  •  Insert battery and connect USB cable to phone and PC;
  •  Make sure Samsung I589 is selected in the list of models;
  •  Click Resurrect button;
  •  Wait few seconds until software signals a successful operation completion;
  •  Disconnect USB cable, de-solder JTAG wires;

Now phone is in bootable condition, that is, even if it does not start up normally, you can flash it using original Samsung downloader software to restore it to the working state.
